FAQ

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM AN INCREASING GLUTES WITH SILICONE IMPLANTS?
Increases buttock volume permanently. It is the only possible surgery when in other parts of the body there is not enough fat to perform a lipotransfer.
It emphasizes the definition of the buttocks, which is especially noticeable when the procedure is combined with a liposuction of the surrounding areas, such as thighs and waist.
It balances the body volumes of those who exercise to develop and mark their muscles, but they do not achieve the same degree of development in the buttocks as in the rest of the body.
WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM AN INCREASED GLUTEES BY LIPOTRANSFERENCE?
Increases buttock volume permanently. Fat injections are more likely to succeed in the buttocks than in other areas of the body, since the natural features of the buttocks make them very apt to accumulate adipose tissue. However, it must be taken into account that sometimes the volume achieved can be reduced again partially or totally, and be reabsorbed by the organism.
The glutes not only stand out more by their volume increase, but also by contrast with neighboring areas, whose volume is reduced during fat collection to transfer.

WHAT RESULTS CAN NOT I EXPECT FROM AN INCREASED GLUTEES?
Do not lift flaccid parts.

SURGERY

Anesthesia
Depending on the needs of your case and what you and your surgeon agree, the anesthesia may be epidural or general.

How long does the surgery last?
The buttock augmentation surgery lasts about 2 hours, either with silicone implants or by lipotransfer.

What is the length of hospital stay?
Between 4 and 6 hours, or one night if the surgery is performed in the afternoon.

What technique is used for gluteal implants?

A) With silicone implants
The surgeon makes a small incision between both buttocks, within the depression that separates them. Through this incision, which measures between 5 and 7 cm, forms a pocket inside each buttock, where it introduces the implants of cohesive silicone gel.

B) By lipotransference
The surgeon suctions the fat from other areas of the body through a cannula, similar to a conventional liposuction. The most frequent collection areas are the lower back, abdomen, waist and hips. It then submits this fat to a purification process and injects it into the buttocks, drop by drop, taking into account that there are blood vessels in the area that ensure good irrigation of the transferred fat.

AFTER SURGERY

What bandages will I have? How long?
To achieve a correct evolution of either of the two procedures available, you must use a special strip on the operated areas, for two or three weeks. It is annoying, unfortunately, but it is necessary.

Will it be painful?
The pain is usually between moderate and high. In the hospital you will receive analgesics intravenously. When leaving the hospital the surgeon will indicate the corresponding analgesics to alleviate the discomfort to the minimum possible.

Do bruises and swelling occur?
Bruising is likely to last up to 10 days and can travel to the legs before disappearing. The inflammation decreases progressively during 3 or 4 weeks, after reaching its maximum peak the third day. During the first two or three weeks the inflammation is likely to decrease unevenly, giving the impression of asymmetries.

Buttock augmentation with silicone implants
It is very important to maintain hygiene during the healing process. The scar is usually 6 to 7 cm, but do not worry about its appearance because it will remain well concealed in the depression that separates both glutes.

Liposculpture increase of buttocks
A small scar is formed in each of the areas where fat was collected. They quickly become very difficult to see if we do not know where they are, since they measure less than 3mm.

How are scars hidden?
Depending on the technique used, there may be two different types of scars, both approximately 4 cm in length:

A) Periareolar: A curve that coincides with the lower edge of the areola. This scar evolves very well. It is camouflaged by the outline of the areola and with time becomes very difficult to perceive.

RECOVERY

You can rest only lying on your stomach until the stitches are removed. From the seventh day on, you can start to sit down and go back to work, if it does not require you to spend a lot of time sitting or engaging in intense physical activity. Heavy work and physical exercises should wait approximately 30 days, depending on your recovery characteristics. It is during this period when patients often suffer from depressions. You may think you made a big mistake by having surgery. Do not worry. Most people who are happy today and very satisfied with their results went through that depression.

WHAT RISKS AND COMPLICATIONS CAN I HAVE?

Any surgical procedure, however minimal, presents risks, and we must think of them as a possibility. However, in the hands of a qualified surgeon, it is unlikely that a breast augmentation with implants present complications.
Asymmetries. Although the surgeon marks in detail the areas to be operated, the asymmetries may occur.
Adverse reactions to anesthesia.
Infections, very rare if you take the antibiotics due.
Bruising too large, may need to be drained.
Seromas, or accumulation of fluids under the skin. In some cases they must be drained by a syringe.
Temporary discoloration of the skin in the treated areas.
Thrombosis. A blood clot that travels through the bloodstream to the lungs can cause cardiorespiratory arrest. To prevent it, you should get out of bed as soon as possible. This risk occurs very rarely and is more related to the increase by lipotransference than to the implants.
In the case of augmentation by means of silicone implants, these may be pricked or ruptured due to blows or violent or excessive pressure. Although the filling of the gluteal implants is a cohesive gel that does not drip, its rupture forces a new surgery to replace the damaged implant.
Implant puncture by injection. You should be very careful not to have injections in the area of the implant, but in other muscles of the body that are as fit for these purposes as the glutes.
Lipoprotein enhancement may result in excessive fluid loss associated with liposuction, which may lead to decompensation.
Also in lipid transfer increases, some of the transferred fat can be reabsorbed by the body if the blood supply it receives at its new location is not sufficient. This is a natural process that lasts a few months. It presents no risk or discomfort, but produces a loss of the volume obtained.

FINALLY, THE RESULT

In general gluteal augmentations produce long lasting and very satisfactory results. Your new curves will make your body look more feminine as a whole. When you dance, when you walk, your movements will have a new attraction that you could not have achieved by other means.
